Mayweather - Hatton

It looks like we will not be able to get either of the two fighters on next Thursday's show. Golden Boy, which is booking Hatton's interviews, has been unhelpful as usual.

So the question is, who do you want to hear on Thursday's show talking about the fight? HBO Talent? Writers? Other boxers? Write in your suggestions.

Vacation All I Ever Wanted...

I'm taking off for two weeks. We're headed to Israel to visit my wife's family. I probably won't get to watch much boxing while I'm there, but I'll have internet access so I'll stay on top of things. I'm looking forward to spending the time with the kids. My wife and I have been working way too hard and traveling too much this year.

The Fernando Vargas interview on last week's show was bizarre. If you haven't heard it be sure to download the podcast (it's back up and running) at www.sportsbyline.com and click on Through the Ropes. Based solely on that interview, I'm going with Mayorga. Vargas sounded like he was a mess.

Have a great Thanksgiving and we'll reconnect in December.

Until then, obey my commands and protect yourself at all times.

This Week's Guests

This week we're scheduled to talk with Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward and "El Feroz" Fernando Vargas.

By the way, has there ever been a worse decision than the Cassamayor - Santa Cruz fight? If you know of one, please leave a comment.

Gay Wheels?

Is there something you guys aren't telling me?

The ads on the right are generated by Google based on the likelihood of generating a click through. This morning on the blog, I saw an ad for gay friendly car dealers at gaywheels.com.

Now, I'd hope that all car dealers would be friendly to gay and straight customers alike. But the more burning question is what have I, or most likely you, done to generate that ad on my blog?

This Week's Guests

No luck on Shane Mosley. I'm very disappointed because he's been on several times before. However, it will still be a great show. We've got hot prospect Victor Ortiz who fights on the PPV portion of this weekend's undercard. A lot of people are talking about him because of his ability in the ring and his maturity out of it. He has a great story that you definitely want to hear.

Also, Fightnews editor Flattop and I will disagree on everything that comes out of his mouth (and I'm not even sure what he's going to talk about yet).

By the way, the podcast is still down. I'm told it should be up by Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Last night's Contender finale was tremendous. But one of the best fights of all time? C'mon Brian Kenny. You're better than that.

Podcast is Down

I've received several emails regarding the podcast being down. I'm not a techie so I can't tell you what's wrong with it. I was told by the network that it should be up in a few days. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

For this week, I'm trying very hard to get Shane Mosley. He's been on the show several times but it may be tough the day before the weigh-in. I'll keep you posted.
